The DC Coaches Association has been in existence for 50 years with coaches in the sixteen (16) high schools, nine (9) junior high schools, eleven (11) middle schools, six educational centers, and one hundred-one elementary schools in the city of Washington, DC. The key reasons for establishing the DC Coaches All-Star Games are:
1. The need to provide an event specifically developed to showcase the athletic talents of graduating student athletes.
2 . The need to enhance satisfactory standards for sportsmanship, education and marketability, while improving the quality of life.
3. The need to provide and promote a drug awareness and peer counseling forum that the student athletes can share with their peers in their respective communities.
